Ahna Fender began her career in art as a poet. After graduating from UCLA's English Literature and Creative Writing program, she began to integrate her understanding of poetic language and symbols into her work as a visual artist.

Exposure to diverse cultures has also played a significant role in Ahna's creative life. Time spent living and creating art in South America, Europe and India has profoundly influenced her personal and artistic development. Ahna currently lives and works on a houseboat in Sausalito, California. Her paintings reside in the homes of collectors in the U.S., Europe and Canada.
